FUCKWELL [Alphonse Momas]. [EROTICA] Fruits Verts.
8vo. 268pp. Bound in striking green contemporary half morocco over green cloth boards. Titled and ruled in gilt to spine. Top edge gilt, others untrimmed. Marbled endpapers, internally clean. A delightful copy, in French, by the prolific but obscure Alphonse Momas, apparently a Parisian civil servant at the Prefecture, a man of many pseudonyms and a number of notable titles of greater or lesser appeal to his name. Operating mainly in the period between 1890 and 1910, he produced (or is suspected to have produced, with details being what they are) a number of highly successful works of erotic literature (and a few things verging on Obrazi/de Croze style mysticism later in life) including “Enfilades des Perles” and “La Femme Aux Chiens” amongst a storm of others. Bottoms of unparalleled roundness abound.
