Novel Library film tie-in edition. Small 8vo. Publisher’s maroon cloth boards, titled and decorated in gilt to spine and front board, spine slightly dulled, which shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. In a very good example of the full colour illustrated dustwrapper, with a little bit of marginal wear and chipping but overall rather decent. Internally clean, front inner hinge starting. The film tie-in edition of the story of Edith Cavell ww1 nurse executed by the Germans, played by Sybil Thorndike (Edith Cavell, not the Germans). The film proved rather controversial and was even banned in some places. My relationship with film tie-in novels is well documented, filthy, delightful things, but this is actually rather nicely preserved.
